What is felted soap?

Felting is an age-old textile art that involves bonding wool fibers to create a dense and flat fabric that lends itself to all kinds of uses. Soap felting specifically consists of hand wrapping layers of merino wool around a bar of soap. It’s a great natural exfoliant for your hands and overall body, serving as both a soap and washcloth.
The wool itself is slip-resistant and water-repellent, drying quickly between each use without leaving a soapy residue. Because of this, it has a lifespan two to three times longer than your average bar of soap. The natural wool’s antimicrobial properties maintain a hygienic state that prevent any kind of mold from growing.
With each wash, the wool conforms around the bar of soap, which makes for a tightly fitted felt layer that turns into a beautiful bath scrubber.
